Amidst the tensions of the current crisis in the Ukraine, 3 new variants of wiper malware have arisen to the focus of cybersecurity professionals the world over. These new malware variants are affecting banking institutions, Governmental agencies, and vital infrastructure.
The affected servers and services included but where not limited to, the development site, the App Store, iCloud, Siri, iMessage, iTunes Store, Apple Maps, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, Apple Arcade, Apple Fitness+, Apple TV+, Find My, FaceTime, Notes, Stocks, and some internal applications.
Again, in the cyber security field, a familiar name is on the rise as mention of a potential breach of security at Okta (a firm designed as an authentication provider for large enterprise companies like Cloudflare inc) surfaces in the early hours of Tuesday, March 22, 2022. Cloudflare’s CEO Matthew Prince said on Twitter, that Cloudflare was aware their provider, Okta, may have been breached. Screenshots have been shared on social media of the occurrence.
